AUTUMNAL STYLISH REAL WEDDING DECOR DETAILS.

I am Darina Stoda Photography’s biggest fan. Ever since I met her back at my cousins wedding in 2013 I’ve basically been obsessed. And then you might have noticed we work quite a bit with the Swaffham and Fakenham florist sisters…So, when we all found out we we’re involved with Rachel and Lukes wedding it was all a bit too exciting.

Rachel had planned a home marquee wedding, I love a simple white canvas that can be transformed entirely. Through the use of lots of seasonal autumnal flora and fauna with pops of brighter colours of the candles in antique brass candlesticks this wedding was a dream. Centre piece flowers were in copper and brass vessels on the tables providing that timeless causal luxe look.

I ‘Lent-a-Hand‘ with setting up our pieces the day before, from the extended sweets ladder, vintage trolley and cake table dotting in extra stands and jars to make it a real statement feature. I love adding additional greenery and touches to our styled stations and the Swaffham girls always provide me with a few extra sprigs to finish the look.

I had wrote the table plan and cards sign too, and guests entered the marquee through our indoor wooden arch beautifully decorated with asymmetric floral arrangements. The evening photos are so romantic with a canopy of festoon lights high into the marquee ceiling.  I mean is there anything about this not to love?!

TROPICAL DECOR WEDDING AT WAXHAM BARN.

Literally one of the best perks of having this little company is the joy from seeing the professional pictures of our props set up and looking rad in their full wedding setting. It’s just the best.
These detail shots are from a late September wedding by JMA photography at Waxham Great Barn near the cost in South Norfolk.

The table decor was a mix of bright florals by Swaffham Florists who filled our vintage brass vessels and bowls with a mix of seasonal flowers and succulents. Mixed with pineapples and retro travel postcards this rocked. You might just spy the off loose antler too. Ecclectic table props at its best.

The ceremony saw our indoor wooden arch with popping pink blooms and an aisle with persian pink rugs finished the look. I adore this against the soft textural barn brick walls.

Our drinks station with striped straws added some fun to the welcome drinks and we helped with some hand written signage for the welcome and order of the day too.

The awesome light up signs are by The Vintage Wedding sign company, who we’re also the bride and groom! Huge congrats to Nadine and Andrew, hope you are both loving married life.

Does this wedding float your boat? Are you throwing the rule book out the window for the ultimate in relaxed wedding decor?

BRITISH BACKYARD URBAN PRETTY REAL WEDDING.

Crickey! I can’t believe we’ve not blogged this gorgeous real backyard wedding inspo before now. Back in the spring of last year I was lucky enough to be asked along by Louise Beukes, Editor of B.loved blog to be her styling assistant for the wedding of Sinclair, owner of Maids to Measure. I mean, really, for someone new to the wedding industry this was an opportunity I was not going to miss!
So with my little van ram packed full of lends I headed to Portsmouth for something very special…

I learnt so much more than I thought by shadowing the brilliant Louise, from thinking through the logistics of setting up a wedding, how to organise a team of suppliers right down to the essentials for a styling kit. It was after this wedding that I knew I wanted to be more involved with wedding styling and not just prop hire.

The wedding was super stylish, beautiful seasonal flowers from Liz of Blue Sky Flowers lined table tops with lots of potted plants and herbs. A palette of mid-grey, white and bright pops of pink on the stationery was perfect. Modern contemporary all the way for this back-yard city wedding with a whole heap of pretty.
It was incredible to see the space transform under the organisation of Anna from Bride and Glory; There was a ceiling filled with fresh foliage and festoon lights, then we set to hanging my galvanised buckets as suspended drinks holders which really added the cool and the floor was covered in old persian rugs.
The graffiti garage was transformed with drinks station details and a more pretty blooms to soften the bar top. An adjoining lounge with throws and cushions featured our mini skulls and antlers on the table with cigars for the boys and baskets of cushions to cosy up with.

A SUFFOLK BARN STYLED ECLECTIC WEDDING

The Summer season is beginning to now ease off for us so it’s time to start sharing a bit more of the ‘incredible Summer of 2016’ (this is what it shall now be known as! Starting with this totally epic day captured by Mr Phill photography, who I think I have a slightly obsessive photography crush on…

This wedding was all about the details, when the Laura the bride got in touch for me to help style the barn with her I was so excited. A totally new venue for me and after a 2 hour venue walk round meeting we had some big plans and ideas. Laura was a true DIY bride and nothing was too big a project, from the dozens of little origami birds behind the cake to the hand painted terracotta pots on the tables and of course that hand written paper table plan…I arrived on the day and was already in awe!

Please enjoy these images of a wedding that I adored being a part of, I have such great memories of the set up day spent with Laura and Tim’s family and friends. I dabbled at floristry with market and garden grown flowers and had a ball setting up props; from the lit up hanging ladder for the sweets, the macrame backdrop behind the band, the boho corner…it was all just so me. I may not say it enough when I’m inundated with hire to wash and pack and an overflowing inbox, but I love what I do.

AUTUMNAL WEDDING INSPIRATION AT GODWICK GREAT BARN.

barn-wedding-venues-in-norfolk-godwick-great-barn-wedding-80

So many of you will know my connection with Godwick Barn from past posts. I work there as one of their wedding planners as well as running LL, I’m super lucky to call this beautiful barn my work place. When James the owner of Godwick started planning his own wedding there in October last year I was so thrilled and excited to be a part of the day. Some of our little lends we’re taken to the barn on the set up day and I helped Aimee, the lovely Bride-to-be, with a few details.

This wedding is full of beautiful autumnal barn inspiration, seasonal colours, blooms and food. Wonderfully rustic and relaxed, the barn really hasn’t looked better. From the wooden tables to the trailing foliage and modern calligraphy signage this wedding was always going to steal my heart.
I just adore the colour mixes, the bright red berries with rich forrest green foliages and lots of berry tones against white highlights. These colours coupled with the midnight navy blue bridesmaids dresses and gents in traditional tweed is such a fab way of working with the natural seasonal tones for an Autumn celebration.

So many stunning details, I’m sure you’ll enjoy this….

NORFOLK SUMMER GARDEN MARQUEE REAL WEDDING.

It’s the best feeling being featured on a national wedding blog, especially the epic Love My Dress. So when our props popped up on our FB feed earlier this year with one of our Little Lenders from last summer with their beautiful home garden marquee wedding I squealed just a little. Sarah and Josh hired several of our pieces for her wedding, from log slices for that really impressive cheese tower to brass candle sticks used in the table centres, tin baths, drinks dispensers, glass candle cylinders, water bottles and lawn games.

wpid404438-Sanyukta-Sherestha-handmade-rustic-wedding-15

wpid404410-Sanyukta-Sherestha-handmade-rustic-wedding-1

wpid404480-Sanyukta-Sherestha-handmade-rustic-wedding-36

I love to see what our brides create and this has to be one of my all time favourite marquee looks, beautifully simple, rustic and relaxed. The mix of soft colours through the candles and the shine from the brass and copper accents has me swooning still. For the full wedding head here.

“We used a Norfolk based company called Little Lending Co to hire some bits and pieces for the day, like brass candle holders, lawn games and water bottles for the tables. They were little touches which I think made a big contribution to the day and it was great to be able to use a local company. Penny at the Little Lending Co was terrific and very helpful.”
Thanks so much to Sarah and Josh for your kind words. Wish you both the most wonderful life together. X

INTIMATE CHAUCER BARN MID-SUMMER WEDDING.

Matthew and Julie Wedding-337

Oh summer, I cannot wait to see you again. Mostly because we get to help set up and style more Norfolk weddings. It’s going to be fab.
We loved meeting and helping set up Julie and Matthews intimate pretty, pastel wedding at Chaucer Barn with our ‘Lend-a-hand‘ set up package in North Norfolk last summer.

Here’s what Julie had to say about us lending-a-hand.

“I loved thinking about the wedding and had an idea in my mind of how I wanted it to be, but I hated not knowing how to achieve it! Penny helped with this no end, both when we visited her to look at her collection of lends and when she lent a hand the day before to set everything up. She knew Chaucer Barn well so could visualise where we could put things and how much space there was and where etc.”

“I thought of our wedding as classy traditional, with a touch of modern vintage (if you know what I mean!). Lots of hessian and lace. If you have a vision but, like me, aren’t sure how to bring it to fruition, then I’d absolutely recommend chatting to Penny about your ideas and she is so unbelievably creative and can add so many brilliant ideas!”

“The lend-a-hand set up took the pressure off and helped me to get super excited about the venue! Penny really helped bring the wedding to life and I was so impressed by how out of her way she went to intertwine the things we had hired from her with the bits and pieces I’d sourced myself.”

ALTERNATIVE COLOURFUL OUTDOOR WEDDING AT THE KEEPER AND THE DELL.

TheKeeperandtheDellAlternativeWeddingPhotos535

Sometimes you find the perfect customers. Little Lenders you just go ‘YES’ with! And let me tell you, Kiera and Aiden could not have been more on my wave length. They were one of those couples that just got what I am trying to do in my little world of weddings. They made me realise it’s totally what I’m meant to be doing. For that reason alone, this wedding will forever be one of my absolute faves.

I’m going to hand over to Kiera to tell you more about her wedding planning journey…

What did you love and hate about wedding planning?
Aiden and I were never going to get married so the wedding planning thing was all a huge deal for us! My absolute favourite part was realising that we could literally do ANYTHING we wanted with our day and we add in our quirky style throughout. It was our complete mission to make a wedding that was not at all traditional or formal and that all our guests would leave saying wow that was so original, so relaxed and so ‘Kiera and Aiden!’
The thing I absolutely HATED about wedding planning is that all of a sudden EVERYONE has got an opinion and everyone seemed to demand to be part of the process. Aiden and I fought so hard to make it all about us and spent so much time explaining to people that no we didn’t want any horse shoes as gifts or formal photographs or a cake cutting or a frigging horse and carriage!!! Luckily, we have super supportive parents and best friends that get us completely and they allowed us to just do our thing! * plus we found awesome likeminded suppliers like Penny that helped us confirm it really was our vision and no one else’s!

Where did you find your wedding inspiration?
What I loved is the amount of content online that can provide alternative wedding inspiration! Pinterest was a huge part of our planning process and we went to events such as ‘A Most Curious Wedding Fair’. We also took loads of inspiration from wedding blogs such as ‘Rock My Wedding’. I loved keeping an eye on the Facebook and Instagram pages of our suppliers and our venue as they often posted the most amazing ideas. ‘The Keeper and the Dell’ often posts awesome ideas on their Facebook page as does Penny! ‘The Rose Shed’ has a fab floristry Instagram account, ‘Festival Brides’ is great for alternative, dreamy weddings! Most of the time, I would just Google ‘alternative weddings, boho weddings, festival style weddings etc.! I didn’t really buy wedding magazines as I found that the majority were full of the traditional fluffy wedding stuff that we just weren’t looking for! I did, however, treat myself to the 6 monthly ‘Elle’ wedding supplement #starsineyes!

How would you describe your wedding décor style? And how did you achieve it?
We definitely went for a festival/woodland/bohemian style wedding with a bit of vintage thrown in for good measure ☺ Constant trawling of wedding blogs where couples had done a similar thing before helped us to achieve it. But most of all, we just followed our individual style. I am so incredibly lucky that Aiden and I have completely the same taste in anything décor and he wanted to be every bit a part of the planning as me- it was totally about us as a couple and putting in details and quirks that got everyone saying ‘that’s so Aiden and Kiera!’ We also took some of our own décor from home to decorate the venue too!

What advice would you give to Little Lenders still to tie the knot?
Do it YOUR WAY! Don’t care about tradition, or what others say you are supposed to do! It’s your day- do what the hell you want! Anything is possible! We even had a temporary tattoo and glitter station!!

SUFFOLK BARN WEDDING WITH MODERN CALLIGRAPHY.

Country Cool Barn weddings still get me every time and this one is totally up our alley.

When Polly got in touch to start planning her day from all the way over in Australia I got just a little bit excited about some of the items she was adding to her ‘Little Lending’ basket, this was going to be gorgeous…And the pictures by Tori Hancock prove just that. Especially when she asked us to work on a set of blackboards with our modern calligraphy styled writing.

A SIMPLE WHITE BARN WEDDING.

Norfolk-Wedding-Photographer-Wingfield-Barms-Ali-Adam_0067

OK, I think you all know I have a real thing for white. It’s probably my favourite colour (some would say it’s not a colour, but let’s not argue that one now) it’s clean, crisp and most importantly forever cool in wedding decor. Something so ceremonial and pure about it just makes my heart do a little flutter.

If you’ve been with us a while you’ll have seen us share the link to this stunning white and peach pop wedding at Wingfield Barns on our social media last year but today I want to share more details that are just plain and simply, delicious.

Ali and Adam hired our white paper poms to hang from the beams of the barn and used them as a feature on the table they signed the register. I’m a huge fan of adding white to white.

They hired our large garden games for a little fun between photos.

I really loved that they mixed our flat white china stands and our tiered stands on their dessert table to create some height along with our wooden slices for their sweet treats. Rustic simplicity at it’s best.

But boy, when I saw the warm festoon lights hanging over the newly-weds dancing their first steps as a married couple, that was it, their wedding had me hook, line and sinker.

Thanks to Elizabeth Lois Photography for all these gorgeous images. And a huge congratulations to our Little Lenders Ali and Adam, who we’re just the perfect couple to deal with, so full of excitement and sweet as a button. It was a total pleasure to be a part of your day.
